Three Yorkshire Players Named In England’s Provisional Euro 2024 Squad

Today, Southgate has named his 33-player England training squad for Euro 2024 – and three Yorkshire players have been named in the team. With some big omissions. One being an old faithful in midfield, Leeds legend, Kalvin Phillips.

Others that have been left out include Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson, with a lot of fresh, youthful players named in the squad, which still needs t obe cut to 26 before 8th June.

The three Yorkshire players Harry Maguire, John Stones and Kyle Walker return to add experience to the team and add a strong Yorkshire wall at the back.

Deciding not to take Marcus Rashford, Southgate said: “With Marcus I just feel other people in the area of the pitch have had better seasons.”

Harry Maguire is an injury doubt, and the England manager reflected on those in the team with injuires saying: “I’d have loved it to be cleaner and more definitive but that’s not the position we’re in.”
