This Incredible Light Festival Is Set To Illuminate The Skies Of The Spa Town Of Harrogate

Give me dazzling lights and I’m a happy man. There’s something so special about lighting up the night sky that has us in awe from children into adulthood. And if you don’t manage to catch Route YC’s light night, you’re not going to want to miss Beam, Harrogate’s new Light Festival – a two-night spectacular.

The special event will keep you happy for ours shining a light on the architecture of the town on the 15th and 16th of March from sunset until 10pm each evening. Beam uses lighting ‘beams’ and projections to animate famous Harrogate buildings.

The event is a great way to showcase the architectural beauty of the spa town, and is sure to have people heading down in their droves. I know that this is one we won’t want to miss. And, it’s a great all-round family experience to enjoy before the lighter nights finally arrive at the end of March.

What to expect of Harrogate Beam Light Festival

Previously staged in the Valley Gardens, the light night will include various Harrogate landmarks such as Crescent Gardens and the cenotaph animate with lights and soundscapes setting the town alive with internationally renowned artist James Bawn.

If you need another reason to, the event is completely free and an opportunity for the community to participate as people living in the area are being allowed to create their own lights at home and retailers in the town centre can get involved to enhance the trail.

Just wander the town’s streets and enjoy the light artwork pieces after dusk. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy Harrogate’s retail and hospitality busineses along the way. If you fancy beaming with light, fun and colour on a winter’s evening then this is one not to miss.
