Heavy Snow Is Set To Arrive In Yorkshire Today As Storm Gladys Rolls In

Following an absolute battering from so many storms, we’ve forgotten their names, Yorkshire is set to get a heavy sprinkling of snow today, with snowy spells predicted throughout the day.

Hitting rural areas such as the Yorkshire Dales the hardest, Yorkshire folk can expect to feel the chill today, as wintry showers blanket the region.

Predicting a maximum temperature of 5 degrees today, snow will begin to fall as early as 10am in areas such as Hawes, Malham, Pateley Bridge, the Yorkshire Wolds, Holmfirth and Swaledale, while less rural areas such as Sheffield, Barnsley, Bradford and Harrogate can expect it around lunchtime.

The worst affected locations will be Keld, Dentdale and Kettlewell in the Dales.

Today’s UK forecast reads: “Rain, heavy in places, with risk of some sleet, across southern areas clearing during the morning, then all parts cold and windy with sunny intervals and squally wintry showers. Some heavy snow showers and isolated thunderstorms in the north.”

A frost and icy patches are expected to follow overnight.
