It’s that time of year when the weather starts to turn, and an indulgent spa day with hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas feels like the perfect way to rest and recuperate. Whether you’re craving a simple day of indulgence or have a spare Thursday to unwind, this new luxury retreat north of York is sure to help you recharge. With a £12 million investment, Salus at Aldwark Manor Estate is set to become the new pinnacle of rest and relaxation.
Following an earlier £18 million spent on the hotel since its purchase by new owners in 2019, the new spa , named after Salus, the Roman goddess of safety, wellbeing, and prosperity, promises to be a true sanctuary of relaxation, holistic wellness, and fitness for those who like to stay active. Guests can expect a scenic sauna, steam room, and a 15-metre heated swimming pool.

Outdoors, visitors can immerse themselves in nature and unwind in the spa garden, complete with a hydrotherapy pool and an outdoor sauna, all while taking in the stunning Yorkshire countryside.
Inside, the state-of-the-art gym features the latest fitness equipment and a unique indoor/outdoor studio offering group classes such as instructor-led yoga and high-energy workouts, as well as on-demand virtual sessions. Outside, the workout continues with stations for circuit training and bootcamps.
The multimillion-pound transformation of Aldwark Manor Estate has also included a redesign of the 18-hole golf course, full bedroom renovations, and the launch of the 3 AA Rosette restaurant Chartwell restaurant.

General Manager Richard Smith said: “The launch of Salus Spa marks an exciting new chapter for Aldwark Manor Estate. Our vision has always been to create a sanctuary where guests can relax, recharge, and invest in their wellbeing. With world-class facilities and partnerships with exceptional brands like ELEMIS, we are proud to bring a spa experience of this calibre to Yorkshire.”
