After a touch of snow and cold weather, we are set to expect a dramatic change from this weekend with weather warnings for strong winds as Storm Isha, the ninth of the season, has been named by the Met Office.
Following the snow and ice of the past week, strong winds up to 70mph are expected on Sunday night into Monday morning wth two amber warnings issued. Friday is said to be the last cold day, with conditions set to become milder.
According to the Met Office, gusts of up to 80mph are expected in areas covered by amber warning which means injuries and danger to life are likely from large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and buildings, the BBC reports.
Changes of powers cuts, will affect mobile phone coverage, with dames to buildings roads and bridges said to be likely. Amber warnings mean journeys may be affected or cancelled with rail, air and ferry may be being affected.

The Met Office has said that heavy rain is likely to lead to disruptions from flooding, with homes and businesses in northern England and Wales affected. Mainly North Yorkshire, with some of West Yorkshire are covered by the Amber Warning, whereas the rest of Yorkshire as a less severe Yellow warning in place.
The amber alert states: “Very strong south-westerly winds will develop widely across Northern Ireland, western parts of England, Wales and the southern half of Scotland during Sunday evening. Gusts will frequently reach 50 to 60mph, perhaps 70mph at times in a few locations, and, along exposed coastal stretches, 80mph is possible at times.
“During the early hours of Monday winds will turn westerly and affect a wider area of southern Scotland and northern England, before easing through the morning.”
