You Now Can Camp With Lions For £45 A Night At Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Holidays! We thought they’d be the one thing we would not be planning this year. But, it seems that we can now think of things to do outside of the house, and if the idea of going abroad doesn’t appeal to you quite yet – the Yorkshire Wildlife Park has a unique staycation on offer that’s out of this world.

For just under £50 a night, you can now be a part of the park’s ‘Roar and Snore’ activity, where you can pitch up in their campsite and wake with the lions each morning! The lions were re-homed from a Romanian zoo which had a lack of funds, and they now live on a seven-acre reserve.

Perfect for families, each pitch accommodates up to six people. Either one large tent or two smaller tents can fit on the 15m x 15m camping spots. There’s also a spot for your car with each pitch, so you can just park up and let the fun begin. The campsite is situated close by the park, and is close enough to hear the lion’s roar… But don’t worry, their lovely little reserve is enclosed, so you won’t be waking up to any giant cats pinching your snacks.

In terms of filling your tums, there’s a choice of bringing your own food and using a camping stove or raised bbq, or you can grab some food at their on-site pizzeria and enjoy a few drinks after 6pm, as well as take advantage of the breakfast wagon in the mornings.

Tickets are available to purchase from 16th July, priced at £45 per night with an exclusive rate of £40 for additional nights. You can also get into the park for a reduced rate at £15.50 for kids and £19.50 for adults. With almost 400 animals and 70 different species such as Amur Leopards, Amur Tigers, Baboons, Giraffes and Black Rhinos – it really is an experience like no other.
