As UK cases grow, businesses have been forced to take further measures to protect staff and the public, with most large supermarkets recently installing perspex screens to create a barrier between staff and customers, as well as distancing rules being enforced in shops that customers must abide by. The government has also enforced “lockdown” rules, which require the public to stay at home, other than shopping for essentials and taking up one exercise per day. Gatherings of more than two people have been officially banned, and the police have been given powers to arrest anyone not following the new guidelines.
