Huge Yorkshire Wine Festival Returns With More Than 10 Vineyards Taking Part

We love a little tipple here at The Yorkshireman, so the thought of more than 10 Yorkshire vineyards coming together at Yorkshire Heart Vineyard later this month has certainly caught our attention.

The vineyards will unite for the annual Great Yorkshire Wine & Fizz Festival at Nun Monkton, near York, as part of English Wine Week (21st–28th June) – a week-long campaign organised by WineGB celebrating the quality, diversity, and growing popularity of English wine.

Taking place on Saturday, 27th June, the festival will give guests a rare opportunity to sample wines from across Yorkshire all in one location, meet local producers, and discover more about the region’s growing wine industry.

Visitors can enjoy live music, local food, wines available to purchase, and guided tastings from 1pm to 3pm, alongside plenty of opportunities to sample some of the best wines Yorkshire has to offer. Organisers say the event is a chance to showcase the fantastic vineyards on our doorstep and help educate visitors about the thriving local industry.

The Great Yorkshire Wine & Fizz Festival highlights just how quickly the county’s wine scene is growing. Yorkshire is now home to 19 commercial vineyards, producing around 100,000 bottles each year, while across the UK there are more than 1,150 registered vineyards.

Yorkshire producers expected alongside Yorkshire Heart Vineyard at this year’s festival include Laurel Vines, Little Wold Vineyard, Towthorpe Vines, Ryedale Vineyard, Goose Beck Vineyard, Bay View Vineyard, Knotfield Vines, High Cayton Vineyard, Robin Hood’s Bay Vineyard, Farthings Vineyard, Carlton Towers Vineyard, and Malton Vineyard.

Yorkshire Heart Vineyard managing director Tim Spakouskas said: “The festival has grown alongside Yorkshire’s wine industry and we’re delighted to be hosting the event once again this year. Bringing together so many of the region’s vineyards in one place gives people a unique opportunity to meet the winemakers, discover new wines and learn more about this exciting local industry.”

Tickets can be purchased via the Yorkshire Heart website here.
