This Ice Sculpture Trail Is Coming To Yorkshire Seaside Town next Month

One for the calendar, Bridlington is set to get its very own ice trail next month. The seaside town will have frozen sculptures dotted around the town in significant areas and is sure to be an exciting addition to the area.

The ice sculptures are set to be a mix of Christmas scenes and heritage pieces inspired by Bridlington’s coastal history. The event is set to take place over one day on Saturday the 16th of November and will take place between 10:30am to 5:30pm. And, the best part? It’s free to visit.

Along with the ice trail, visitors will get to experience live ice carving and fire and ice shows along with the Bridlington Christmas food festival and the town’s Christmas tree switch-on. So, it’s set to be a busy one.

You can watch as a block of ice is sculpted from a block of ice from around midday. the carving will be for two to three hours – so you can check back in to see what creations have been made over that period. And, you won’t want to miss the town’s light switch on which will be around 17:30pm.

Walking around you’ll work up quite the appetite so the Bridlington Christmas food festival, which is taking place on King Street over that weekend, is the perfect place to visit independent food stalls and try their freshly made dishes. We love seeing what food is on offer, almost as much as we like finding which one we’d like to try.

The BBC reported that East Yorkshire Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism Councillor Nick Coultish, said: “We are pleased to receive funding from the UK Government to bring this enchanting ice sculpture display to Bridlington, increasing footfall during the festive period. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season whilst honouring the town’s coastal heritage, creating lasting memories with family and friends.”
