Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’ Has Announced Air Date For Season 2 – And We Can’t Wait

A new trailer has been dropped for the upcoming second series of Bridgerton. The romantic drama which is described as Gossip Girl meets Downton Abbey, had everyone hot around the collar with its raunchy four-poster bed sex scenes.

The popular series is based on Julia Quinn’s novels which are a feminist take on Regency England romance and unveils the glittering, wealthy, sexual, funny, and lonely lives of the women and men in London’s high society.

The period drama quickly became one of Netflix’s most-viewed titles ever, so it would have been rude not to have a second series. Production for the new series wrapped over a month ago, and the date for the new series was announced for the 25th March 2022 (so there isn’t long to wait).

This period-set phenomenon became one of the streaming giant’s most-viewed titles ever, so it was only natural that it’d return with more raunchy shenanigans.

The cast video upload showed the main cast, as well as some newbies Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, who celebrated by announcing the premiere date of the upcoming series, which will be based on the second book of author Julia Quinn’s Bridgernton novels named The Viscount Who Loved Me.

Her second novel centres around the pursuit of a suitable marriage for the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, portrayed by Jonathan Bailey. The new season features the introduction of a new female lead in the form of Sex Education actress Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma.

The cast for Bridgerton includes Phoebe Dynevor, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlan, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Bessie Carter and Harriet Cains and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown. Joining them in the new season are Shelley Conn, Calam Lynch, Charithra Chandran, and Rupert Young, Rupert Evans.

You can view the first season of Bridgerton on Netflix now where it features the beautiful stately home, Castle Howard.

It was used as a backdrop for the filming back in 2019. The impeccable Yorkshire stately home can be found just 15 miles north of York. It featured in the series as Clyvedon Castle and Clyvedon Village, the Duke of Hastings’ family estate.

The symmetrical wings and crowning dome took over 100 years to complete. It looks just as grand in the flesh. You can enjoy a wander around its grounds including lakes fountains, and woodland walks.
